The Challenge
A large, single-site, build-to-print aerospace component manufacturer—private equity-backed—needed a Program Manager to lead key composite and metallic structure programs for space and defense customers. The role required a balance of technical leadership and hands-on execution—managing cost, quality, and schedule while directing a team of 8–10 engineers and technicians in a fast-paced environment.
The position was based on-site in a secondary aerospace region, making talent access more difficult given the area’s distance from traditional talent hubs and higher cost of living.
The Search
We conducted targeted outreach to 156 senior aerospace professionals with experience in composites, and defense systems. We focused on individuals with full program ownership, strong scheduling and CAD skills, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams while collaborating with internal stakeholders and key customers.
The Result
Our client selected a program leader with dual engineering degrees and deep experience managing both prototype and production efforts for military platforms. As Master Scheduler and Program Manager on a $70M rotorcraft program, he built and maintained integrated schedules, drove earned value metrics, and aligned teams around mission-critical goals.
He brings advanced CAD fluency, strong supplier management, and a background spanning tooling, liaison engineering, and supply chain support. A hands-on, metrics-driven leader, he was a seamless fit for the company’s program needs and culture.
